Adventures: San Diego/Los Angeles - Day 3

March 03, 2014 - Our last day of this mini vacation. Woke up at 8:00am along with Becky to get ready for breakfast and meet Jennifer up. Judy and Erika woke up not long after and we headed out at around 9:30am to meet Jennifer at Daily Bagel. This was a really simple mom and pop shop, but the breakfast here was amazing. After eating we wandered around Von's, Jennifer left to continue her grad school homework and studying, and then we left to go to Westfield UTC mall.

After the mall we all headed back to Erika's house to get ready to leave for LA. We said good-bye to Erika and headed out to Irvine for Class 302. Becky was super excited to try their milk tea, but I on the other hand was excited to eat their popcorn chicken. After grabbing snacks, we drove to Anaheim to walk around downtown Disney! After walking around we grabbed lunch/early dinner at Earl's Sandwich.

Judy eating a churro magnet.

They finally have a Goofy pillow pet!

Awesome stitch cup.

The flight back home felt a lot faster because there were no delays this time around. Also because Becky and I were able to switch seats so that we could be next to each other. This trip was fun, I'll try to go back when the sun is out! Thank you Erika & Judy for bringing us around.

Adventures: San Diego Trip - Day 2

On March 01, 2013 Becky, Erika, and I woke up at around 8:00am to get ready for breakfast. We let Judy sleep in so that she could get some rest. It was predicted to rain the entire weekend, so we made sure we had back up plans.

At around 8:30 we drove off to Snooze for breakfast. Erika dropped me off first so that I could put a name down. The wait was going to be one hour long! But people say the wait is worth it. Becky and Erika came and we sat around and talked while waiting for our table. The place was nicely decorated and comfortable. Would definitely come back again if I had the chance.

My breakfast the "Sandwich I Am" - Soft pretzel roll filled with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese and a sausage patty.

Becky's crazy pancakes.

After breakfast, the rain had stopped so we headed to Balboa Park for a nice walk. Balboa park is filled with many museums and places to sit around.

Thanks Erika & Becky for being cooperative models!

After a good walk, we met Judy up at Oscar's Mexican Seafood for some delicious Tacos! This was my second time here, and it did not fail to amaze me once again. After our tacos we drove over to La Jolla coves for a walk and sightseeing. There was an area that was filled with sea lions laying around, you could even get closer to them but heading down stairs!

My beautiful friends modeling for me.

After La Jolla Coves, we headed back to Erika's house to meet up with her boyfriend, Jon. Everyone went to the bathroom and then we headed out to Up2You Cafe for some milk tea and games. We had an intense game of Uno that lasted forever until we finally decided to call it quits and head to Phils BBQ for dinner. By the time we got to Phils, there was already an two hour wait! We did not want to wait that long for dinner, so instead we headed over to Friend's House for Korean food. Becky and I shared a bibimbap, which was the best I have tasted. After dinner, we drove over to Extraordinary Desserts so that Becky could have her chocolate cravings satisfied. After dessert, we went back to Erika's so that we could wash up and sleep for the next day.

 Our drinks, and Jon's Gatorade.

Ending this long blog with beautiful cakes from Extraordinary desserts! :)

Adventures: San Diego Trip - Day 1

On February 28, 2014, Becky and I headed to SFO at approximately 3:00pm to catch our flight that was supposed to be departing at 4:20pm.

Becky's dad checked our flight and saw that it was going to be delayed until 9:25pm! When we got there, the first thing we did was try to get onto standby for an earlier flight. There was a lot of struggles and turns, but we finally got onto a stand by flight for 8:45pm.

We waited around the airport and chatted with Alvin before he headed to work. Sat and chatted with Becky's friend Sharon (whose flight was delayed as well) until 8:00pm to wait by our gates. I'll save the ranting and keep this short so this does not get too long. The 8:45 flight was delayed more until 9:10pm. And our original flight was delayed even more as well. Becky and I were both called onto our stand-by flight, we were so excited and got on immediately. Right when the plane was about to take off, the pilot informed us that the flight would be delayed until 10:30pm. Everyone was angry at this point, and I do not like being on airplanes, so I got off the airplane to wait. When I got off, I found out that our original flight was about to take off! This angered many passengers, but there was nothing that we could do.

At 10:00 everyone got back onto the airplane only to find out it would not be taking off until 11:00pm. This time everyone stayed and just waited it out. The airplane finally took off but there was sadly, a lot of turbulence.

Finally, at 12:00am we arrived in LAX! Becky and I were exhausted and hungry, but we still had a 2 hour drive with Judy to San Diego.

Once we got to Erika's house, Judy went in to get some rest and Erika brought us to Rigoberto's for some delicious fries! We got ours with chicken and beef.

Delicious way to end our long journey!

Design: Fully Laced Hawaiian Floral Print Hats

Fully Laced created a collection of Floral printed hats that were released at an event in Hawaii. I was in charge of shooting the products, editing the photos, and then uploading them online to be sold on our website. I also had to create a banner of the hats for our front page, as well as create advertisements for each design. My boss took some nice shots in Hawaii of the hats, so I took those and turned them into banners and advertisements.

Adventures: Exploring SF with Design Buddies

Yesterday was a fun-filled and exciting day. Ryan Griego came back from LA to visit San Francisco. We haven't seen him since graduation last year! For his trip back to SF, I decided to plan a whole day of activities for a group of our design friends.

Our first stop was at Stacks, for delicious brunch. Donald, Judy, Justin, Sam, San, and Ryan was at Brunch. We talked about how everyone was doing and ordered our food. Judy and I shared a delicious Omelet and the bacon waffles. Both were good, sorry no images of food in this post. I was to eager to devour them. After brunch, Donald left to go home and would be rejoining us for dinner. The rest of us walked over to Smitten for ice-cream. (Smitten is my favorite ice-cream spot.) I had the earl grey flavored ice-cream which was seasonal for February. We were able to get five dollars off our ice-cream just by using the Paypal app!

After ice-cream we were completely stuffed. Justin left to work on homework and would be rejoining us for dinner. We decided to walk to Alamo Square to hang out, dog watch, talk for about an hour. Then decided to abuse the Paypal deals some more back at Chantal Guilion for macarons. Afterwards, we went to the train station to catch the J and head over to Bernal Heights before dinner.

After we got off the bus, we went to Safeway to use the restroom before our hike up the hill. The walk up the to the hill was long and me forgetting that not everyone was used to the crazy San Francisco hills, tired everyone out before we even started the climb up. We were able to walk up a secret path from the help of nearby residents. When we got to the top, we were all able to enjoy the beautiful view. Karl the Fog also showed up on our day of adventure, and I was able to capture some snaps of him.

Sam falling, and Ryan to the rescue!
No one wanted to go further around the mountain with me, so I captured a stranger.

The sun began to set, so we figured it was time to start our 30 min walk to our dinner/bar destination. We arrived at the dive bar, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, and Donald was already there. It was crowded, but we were able to grab a big table outside in the patio. David, David's friend Wells, Justin, and Donald's friend Brandon joined us. We had good food, talks, and drinks (for those that drink). Overall, it was a successful and amazing day, can't wait to see them all again!
